Call for vote on merging 1164 with 1076

Dear colleagues,

I have heard no further discussion of the proposal to merge 1164 into the
1076. I therefore put the motion:

  That the specifications in Standard 1164-1993 and the change
  proposals developed in P1164 be transferred to the P1076 Working
  Group for inclusion in the next revision of Standard 1076 in such
  a way that backward compatibilithy is maintained for VHDL models
  that conform to Standard 1164-1993, and that the P1164 Working Group
  be disbanded.

Please reply either to me (mailto:peter@ashenden.com.au) or to the list with
your vote, by 5pm US-PST, Friday 26-Mar-2004, selected from the following
positions:

1. ____ Affirmative (optional comments will be recorded).

2. ____ Negative (no comments).

3. ____ Negative with comments...

4. ____ Abstain.

Since this is a motion to disband, it will require approval by two-thirds of
those voting. Furthermore, according to IEEE procedures, the motion
requires approval by a majority of WG members.
