Dear colleagues,
Thanks for your response regarding participating in the P1164 effort.
You can find a summary of proposed changes to the standard at:
http://www.eda.org/vhdl-std-logic/proposals/proposals.txt
The individual change proposals are in the directory:
http://www.eda.org/vhdl-std-logic/proposals/
I have made a first pass at analyzing most of the proposals, and now
seek comments from working group members. CP-007 and CP-008 address the
need for text I/O of standard logic values and vectors. Steve Bailey of
Synopsys is currently seeking donation of the Synopsys packages for use
as a starting point. If that goes ahead, I'll do a draft analysis of
these two remaining issues.
Please post comments on issues to vhdl-std-logic@eda.org. You can find
a hypermail archive of the list at the working group home page at:
http://www.eda.org/vhdl-std-logic/
I'd like to allow a reasonable period for review and comment, after
which I'll call for a vote on the proposals. The process after that
will be for me to incorporate the accepted proposals into the draft
standard document, the working group to then vote on the revised draft,
and then submit to IEEE for ballot.
Cheers,
PA
