1. Reviewed Patent information

- Chas reviewed the patent information which can be found at http://standards.ieee.org/board/pat/pat-slideset.ppt

2. Approval of agenda

  - Move Checkers Item earlier.
  - Add Item 0742.
  - Chuck/Bassam.  ACCEPTED

3. Reviewed minutes for 06/04/2008

Jim/Chuck. ACCEPTED

4. Liaisons

  - Chuck reported that he attended SV-SC on Checkers, but we will
    cover that under new business.
  - No other meetings to report on.

7. New business

  • Checkers
    Chuck reviewed Item 1900 and then reviewed 2182.  Can be declared and
    instantiated in different instances.  Long discussion on whether or not
    we should have a separate object for the definition versus just an
    instance.  Checkers can have a program instantiated in it.  Struggled
    with this question and trying to understand Checkers.
    Jim moves that we postpone discussion until 4 weeks from today and
    that we ask P1800 for an extension until that time.  Chuck seconds.
    ACCEPTED
