Subject: OOVHDL - Call for participation

Dear colleagues,
For some time, the IEEE has had a study group working on object oriented
extensions to VHDL. Recently, IEEE approved formation of a working
group, P1577, to develop a Trial Use Standard for OOVHDL. Prof.
Wolfgang Nebel, from Oldenburg University, and I are Co-Chairs of the
working group. Our respective research work has been the basis for
recent technical work in the working group.
Unfortunately, due to our changed circumstances, neither Prof. Nebel's
group nor mine are able to continue work on OOVHDL. I am therefore
calling for anyone interested in taking on the role of Chair for the
working group, and for people interested in participating in the
effort. In the absence of interest, the group will go dormant and
eventually lapse.
If you are interested, please reply to me (Peter Ashenden). I will be
pleased to assist in hading over the baton. Thanks.
