Subject: OOVHDL Meeting at FDL

Dear colleagues,

The next meeting of the OOVHDL Working Group will be on Tuesday, 5
September 2000, 16:00-18:00, in conjunction with FDL-2000 at Tuebingen,
Germany. Venue to be advised.

Tentative agenda:

1. Welcome

2. Minutes of previous meeting

3. Proposal of Bylaws for the OOVHDL Working Group

4. Status of PAR

5. Review of Strawman vote

6. Plan for Technical Work

7. Meeting Schedule

8. Any other business

9. Close

Attached are draft bylaws to be considered in item 3. The way the IEEE
procedures work is that each committee is subject to the policies and
procedures of its parent committee, transitively. Thus the OOVHDL
Working Group is subject to the bylaws of the DASC, which is subject to
the bylaws of the Computer Society Standards Activities Board, etc.
Each committee needs to include in its bylaws only those aspects that
are not covered in the union of its ancestors' bylaws. That is what I
have tried to capture in the draft bylaws attached. The ancestor bylaws
are available at www.dasc.org, www.computer.org and standards.ieee.org.

If there is something that appears to be overlooked, it may be that it
is handled further up the chain. I'd be pleased to answer any questions
about possible errors or omissions.

Cheers,

PA
