I'm sorry, I don't understand your comment. Are you asking whether we
should find a computer program that will write a standard document for
us (a major advance in AI!), or whether we should be in possession of
some computer program before we proceed to write a standard? Perhaps
you would like to rephrase your question.

I don't think it's going out of style. More a matter of having been
accepted into the mainstream, so that there's less noise being made
about it.
