Djafri Bachir, University of Evry, France, djafri@lami.univ-evry.fr
The meeting was opened and chaired by Wolfgang Nebel at 19:00 hours.
Agenda:
1. Results and discussion of vote
Wolfgang Nebel presented the preliminary results of the vote on Suave,
Objective VHDL and Suave plus entity/architecture inheritance. In total 36
votes have been received, out of which one arrived after the deadline. One
vote was received with a priority list for two of the three proposals,
however, only the highest priority has been counted. Out of the 35 valid
votes 10 were for SUAVE, 15 for Objective VHDL and 10 for SUAVE plus e/a
inheritance. The membership status of the votes is still to be checked.
The discussion arose, how to interpret these results. Kamal pointed out,
that according to British and Australien election votes, the candidate with
the highest number in votes wins. Further it was stated that offering a
third option was not according to the orginal intention of the selection
procedure the group had decided on.
However, in few of the limited attendance to the meeting and the
implication of the decision, the group decided not to take a formal vote on
the interpretation of the vote and on the next steps, but rather to open an
e-mail discussion on this issue.
2. A.O.B.
A next meeting was proposed to be held at DAC, however, decisions on the
next steps should not be postponed until then.
The meeting was closed at 19:30 hours.
