Dear colleagues,
As you have seen, the review panel has published its findings.
According to our agreed process, we are now in a discussion period of
two weeks, followed by a voting period of two weeks. Naturally I expect
discussion will continue during the voting period.
The recommendation included a suggestion that aspects of Objective VHDL
(entity/architecture inheritance) be integrated with SUAVE to form the
basis of OO extensions to VHDL. I would like to entertain discussion
of this suggestion, and whether to include it as an option in the vote.
The schedule over the next few weeks is:
- email discussion from now on
- vote opens Sunday 12 March (details to follow)
- vote closes 12 noon Sunday 26 March US-PDT
Please note that the meeting at HDLCON will be in the middle of the
discussion period. The meeting at DATE will be immediately after close
of voting. We will announce the outcome in time for that meeting, so
that future directions for the study group can be discussed.
Cheers,
PA
