Erich,
Concerning issue 39 (input sampling mechanism).
This issue arrived after the original assignment of priorities,
and was allocated by the issues subcommittee to extensions.
It hasn't yet been given a group.
In a couple of recent mails, I've suggested that there are
a number of related points:
- sampling policy (as raised in both issues 39 and 22)
- definition of model associated with a synthesized netlist
- semantics of vunit linked to a design
I propose that these be considered as a group, either as
issue 39, or split into more than one issue. I believe that
a decision on the definition of the model associated with
a synthesized netlist leads to a decision on the other two
points.
Recent discussions on these points indicate that there is
enough interest in them to merit full discussion in the
extensions subcommittee. Issue 22 was in fact rejected in
the original disposition. But I believe the detailed
voting demonstrates a significant level of interest among
the organizations represented, including two 4 or 5 priorities.
Regards,
Anthony
