That is not my point--true this is a trivial thing
to do with Perl or TCL. The point is that most
design flows have a significant investment in
infrastructure (internal tools and scripts). I've
been on projects where the management made a
decision NOT to move to a newer / faster / and
cheaper simulator since the cost of modifying
the infrastructure was too great. Consistency
is a good thing.
